A few keys to spend a pleasant stay

Welcome to “La California”!

Our house, gives you a unique point of view over Provence, Avignon, the Alpilles” and the Luberon. Its position protects it from the wind. This house is 40 years old, it was quite revolutionary for the region, when it was built. In order for you to spend a pleasant stay, we intended to equip this house with all modern comfort -air conditioning, high quality bedding, Jacuzzi with the view all over the Alpilles, a Wi-Fi access, cable TV(French and international channels), Blu-ray DVD lectors…

You will find listed below a few keys for you to spend a pleasant stay :

Private Areas:

We are living and having guests in this house all year round. We would be grateful if you could avoid the private areas which are the living room, the terrace, the kitchen and the rooms bellow the backstairs.

Breakfast:

In order for us to adapt to your needs, please tell us when you arrive or during the evening the day before, at what time you’d like to have breakfast , between 8 and 11 am.

Please tell us also if you’d like ham, cheese or eggs. By default, the breakfast will include croissants, fresh bread, homemade marmalades and cake, fruits and freshly-squeezed orange juice.

Breakfast is served in the common dining room, in the Orange grove at the entrance.

Lunch and dinner:

We don’t serve lunch and dinner, but a fridge, a micro-wave, and Knives & forks are at your disposal in the common dining room, if you’d like to have a light meal.

I’ll be available between 6 and 8pm to recommend you some restaurants and eventually book a table for you. Please be careful not to be too noisy when you’ll get back.

Car park:

3 parking spaces are available for the rooms “Hammam”, “family suite” and “Céladon”, in the outside eastern car park. To get there you have to take the drive way right below the swimming pool.

The “Swimming pool suite” has a parking space available in the car park at the entrance of the house, in the garage. You’ll get out in reverse toward the gate.

The gate opens with a code changing regularly.

Audio and video devices and Blu-ray lectors:

The flat TV screen in your room has a TNT lector giving you access to 18 French TV channels. You also have in your room a satellite access to 300 international channels.

You’ll also have in your room a Blu-ray DVD lector and I have a Blu-ray DVD collection if you wish to borrow movies to watch in your room, after watching one, please give it back to me, so that the other guests could also use it.

Finally, you also have in your room an audio system with an “iPod/iPhone” dock.

Internet :

We offer you free Wi-Fi internet access. But you’ll need to have your own computer to use.

ir conditioning and environment

Air conditioning will help you to sleep quietly, even more during summer. Yet, misusing the air conditioning has a high environmental impact, please be careful to close the windows, when the air conditioning is on, and not put it under 20°C.

Also for environmental reasons, as washing water dries groundwater sheets, please put the towels and bathrobes you’d like us to wash, at the bottom of your bath or shower, clearly separating them from the clean ones.

Your trips

We are always really happy to help you discover our region and its treasures, don’t hesitate to ask us some information or advices. We also have flyers and brochures at your disposal.

Playing boules

We have “boules” if you’d like to play boules, “pétanque”, which is the typical traditional “sport” from Provence. You could play on the drive way below the swimming pool. Yet, watch the cars, and remember that “boules” are really heavy so that young children can’t use it.

Swimming Pool and Jacuzzi

The swimming pool and the Jacuzzi (spa-pool) are at your disposal. From 9am to 7pm for the swimming pool and till 10pm – with discretion- for the Jacuzzi.

Be careful! The swimming pool and the Jacuzzi are not under surveillance, so please watch your children and don’t go in the deep part of the swimming pool if you can’t swim.

Please put the top of the Jacuzzi back on when you’re done, and don’t walk on it.

“La California” is a place to rest overall, where you can quietly enjoy the view and the sun. Please don’t scream, run over the wooden platform or jump in swimming pool.

Bathrobes are at your disposal in your room, you can bring it by the swimming pool, but please bring it back with you afterwards.

Arrivals and departures

Arrivals must be between 5 and 8 pm, and departures between 10 and 12am. Please ask us if you intend to leave or arrive out of those timetables.
